Privacy Notice

How we collect, use and protect your personal information. Last updated 28 July 2026.

Who we are

24hr Response Line operates this website and is the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at response@peterboroughwaterdamage.co.uk or on 01733 612 830.

What we collect, and why

When you use our contact form we collect your name, telephone number, email address, the type of problem you describe and any details you write in the message box. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and to arrange the work you have asked about.

When you telephone us our phone system records the number you called from, the date and time, and the duration of the call. Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes and to keep an accurate record of what was agreed. If you would prefer not to be recorded, please say so at the start of the call.

When you attend a job we may keep a record of the property address, photographs of the damage, moisture readings and drying logs. These form the evidence file that supports your insurance claim.

We do not collect any special category data, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Our lawful basis

Where you contact us about work, we process your information on the basis of legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you have made — and, once work is agreed, on the basis of performance of a contract. Where we keep records for insurance or accounting purposes, we do so to comply with a legal obligation.

Who else sees it

We keep your information to ourselves. It is never sold, and it is never passed to marketing companies. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf under contract:

Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, that transfer is covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.

We may also share your details with your insurer or loss adjuster where you have asked us to deal with them on your behalf, and with a contractor carrying out the work where that is necessary to complete the job.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to completed work, including photographs and drying logs, are kept for six years, which is the period during which an insurance or contractual dispute could arise. Call recordings are kept for up to 12 months.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics scripts that follow you around the internet. Your browser will request fonts from Google's servers when the page loads; if you would rather that did not happen, most browsers allow you to block third-party requests.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.

To make a request, email response@peterboroughwaterdamage.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
